Sometimes life gives you the impression that everything will be okay, that everything will go your way. Your defenses get lowered, maybe you lose sight of a couple of things, other things get sloppy. And then life comes up behind you when you’re not looking and takes a metal bat to your knees.
Such was the case last week when my mother was admitted to the hospital with what they believed to be a stroke. Fortunately it wasn’t a stroke, and she was released a few days later after some exams. It’s things like that that force you to make sense of things, focus your attention and determine what needs to be done.
So I’m back in the driver’s seat here, trying to make up for lost time, trying to get antiSocially moving forward once again.
If you aren’t already following @antiSociallyCA on Twitter, do it NOW! Tomorrow the account goes PRIVATE so that only followers can get the super-exclusive code that’ll knock HALF OFF the regular price!
Behold! Two new t-shirts to start off your 2012 spring right!
First up is “Imagination”, presenting the double-level observation that “#imagination” has fallen out of favor, both on Twitter and in the real world.
Next is “Skinny Jeans”, making yet another astute observation about how today’s men can manage to squeeze themselves into skinny jeans!
And to further kick things off, I’ve posted these at the online t-shirt store with the introductory price of just $17.95 each, regardless of size! Head on over and check’em out now!
I’ll be the first to admit that I jumped the gun in launching the website. But you all know the drill, you’re so excited to begin something new that you just want to get it out there no matter what. Unfortunately, more often than not, the results leave a lot to desire.
But this time I made the effort to rectify the situation and make things right! Behold, the new antiSocially website! Now everything looks proper, some of the features I couldn’t get in the first time made it in, and I’m satisfied I hope you like this version much better as well!
I’m also taking this opportunity to preview the two designs that will be released around a week from now… I’m tentatively calling them “Skinny Jeans” and “#Imagination”! Check them out!
I was originally going to go on a long rant about how and why I almost had to kill my “Nice Guys Finish Last” t-shirt. But instead, I offer the following lesson learned – doing research when looking for vendors is not enough. I recommend having a sit down with whomever you choose so you can explain to them what you’re doing so that you’re both on the same page and so you can put together a game plan.

We’ve all taken astronomy and biology classes (not saying we’ve all excelled at them, but at the very least we’ve taken them!), so we all know what Neil deGrasse Tyson is talking about here. But have any of you actually taken the time to let this sink in, to actually process this? It’s some deep stuff, I tell ya.
Words cannot begin… so just watch
If you think Franklin Roosevelt is a badass now, you should learn about his distant cousin, Theodore!
Just spent a good amount of time updating the online store… here’s what’s up:
- Added the newest t-shirt, “Duckface of Liberty“! It’s exactly what you think it is… the Statue of Liberty taking a pic of herself, showing some leg!
- Brought down the price on ALL 2X and 3X shirts! antiSocially is still fresh and in soft launch so as time goes on, I’m finding new ways to keep the price down. Doing a lot of math to see what can be done certainly helps They were previously $5 more than regular-size shirts, they are now only $3 more.
If you follow antiSocially on Twitter or read the previous post here, you may have seen something about launching ladies’ Ts for the “Nice Guys Finish Last” design. Unfortunately, there was a MAJOR mistake at the local USPS office, and the shirts that were ordered for that are LOST. Un-fucking-believable. So we’re now a week (at least) behind on getting the ladies Ts out, but rest assured, they will happen!
Having just started antiSocially, my original plan was to exclusively use unisex shirts to begin with, to help keep the prices as low as I can. But I’ve received so much positive feedback from women regarding the “Nice Guys Finish Last” t-shirt that I’ve made the jump and have just ordered my first batch of ladies t-shirts, just for this shirt!
For those not aware, women’s t-shirts are cut differently than men’s and usually hug the female form a little bit (tapers inward below the sleeves before tapering back out to the hips). Because of their cut and because women’s shirts are generally produced in smaller quantities than men’s, the prices tend to be a little higher. So there’s your lesson for today
I’ll be adding the ladies’ style “Nice Guys” shirt to our shop on the 27th, along with a second NEW t-shirt tentatively called “Duckface of Liberty”! This is also when I’ll be switching the shirts’ release schedule; I currently release a new one every 2 weeks, but from now on it will be two shirts around the 1st of every month. It’s just easier that way!
Update: there was a mishap with the ladies Ts! Click here to find out more.
We’ve finally completed our new website’s back-end web stuff and are now ready to rock! There are also a couple new features coming up real soon including an email newsletter (for exclusive deals and offers!) and an online look book!
And as our first order of business on the new website, we are happy to announce that we have selected our first pair of winners to receive antiSocially t-shirts! Congratulations to @rickywatts who picked himself out a “Make It Rain” t-shirt and to @fernandorivero who made out like a bandit with a “River Runs Red” tee!
